How do I create a mailto link in my message?

Using the Drag and Drop Email Builder, you have the option to create a mailto link. This is a great way for you to create a pre-populated message for your subscribers if you want to collect information in an email reply. You can also use this option to have your subscribers contact an email address that is different from the From Address on your list. In this article we'll walk through how to create a mailto link in your message.

Adding a mailto link to text:

  1. In the editor, find the text you would like to hyperlink and highlight it.

  2. Then, select "E-mail" from the Link Type drop down menu.

  3. Here you can add your email address, subject line, and any content you want included in the message your subscribers are sending to you.

  4. Once you've entered this information, click "OK".

Adding a mailto link to a button:

1. In the editor, find the button you would like to hyperlink and select it.

2. Fill your custom email content into this code:

mailto:[email]?subject=[insert subject here]&body=[insert body here]

ie. mailto:testerjones@example.com?subject=I'd love to learn more!&body=Here is where you would add any boilerplate content!

3. Enter this code in the "URL" field.

Adding a mailto link to an image:

1. In the editor, find the image you would like to hyperlink and select it.

2. Fill your custom email content into this code:

mailto:[email]?subject=[insert subject here]&body=[insert body here]

ie. mailto:testerjones@example.com?subject=I'd love to learn more!&body=Here is where you would add any boilerplate content!

3. Enter this code in the "Image Link" field.

 Congratulations! You've successfully created a mailto link in your message. Subscribers who click on this link will be able to send an email with a pre-populated reply directly.
