How do I start imported subscribers on a specific Legacy Follow Up Message?

When importing your list of subscribers you have the option to have those imported subscribers start on a particular legacy follow up message in your legacy follow up series. So for example, if you did not want to start your imported subscribers on legacy follow up message #1, you can choose to start them on legacy follow up message #2.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. First, before importing your list of subscribers, open up your spreadsheet file where your subscribers information is currently stored.

Within that spreadsheet add an extra column for the legacy follow up message number that you would like those subscribers to start on.

In this example we are setting it so everyone is set to start on legacy follow up message #2 when they are imported.

Note: You do not need to set all subscribers to start on the same legacy follow up message number. So if you want to, you can start some subscribers on a different legacy follow up message than others. Just type in the message number of the last message they received. So, if you want people to receive message 3, import them as message 2.

Once you have added that extra column, save your spreadsheet.

  2. Now log into your AWeber account and start the process of importing the subscribers from the spreadsheet you saved. Once you get to the step for "Match Subscriber Info" you will see the information for the first subscriber from your spreadsheet.

Match each of the fields for that subscriber to the corresponding options from the "Choose One" drop down menu. For the field where you put the legacy follow up message number that you want the subscriber to start on, match it to the "Follow Up #" option from the drop down menu.

So for this example we are matching the 2 for the subscriber named Mark to the "Follow Up #" option from the drop down menu.

  3. Just click the "Next" button once you are finished mapping your subscribers information and continue with the rest of the import process. The system will take the information you mapped for your first subscriber and automatically map the information for the rest of your subscribers in the same way.

  4. On Step 4 of the Import process called "Follow Ups", be sure that the automatically selected radio button for "No, keep the message numbers provided in my upload" is selected.

Once your import has been processed, they will start on the legacy follow up message number that you specified!

Don't Have A SpreadSheet?

If your subscribers information is not stored in a spreadsheet, you can still have them start on a particular legacy follow up message number. When importing your subscribers just choose the option for "Copy & paste or enter by hand."

When you click on that option, you will see the text box to enter your subscribers information manually, or you can copy and paste their information in from another source. Here you will want to make sure your subscribers data is separated by commas and that there are no spaces before or after the commas.

Below you will see an example of how this information might look after it is manually entered.

After you have manually entered your subscribers information click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page. Then continue at step 2 in the directions above.
