The instructions below are for placing a form onto a blog that you are hosting on your own domain, using the Wordpress.org software.
Users of Wordpress.com-hosted blogs, please note that they do not permit placing forms on your blog. You may want to have AWeber host your form instead, and simply provide a link to the form on your blog.
Not sure if you have a WordPress.org page? See the differences between the .com and .org versions of WordPress.
Step By Step Instructions
Copy that code and save it in a text file somewhere or keep that page open in a separate window/tab in your browser while you navigate to the backend of your WordPress site. This code will be used to install the form on your site.
- Next, go to the dashboard of your WordPress site. In the sidebar of your WordPress dashboard go to "Pages" and from the drop down that appears click on "All Pages."
Note: If you want to add the form to a blog post you will want to go to "Posts" instead of "Pages" to select the blog post that you wish to install the form onto. The process for installing a sign up form on a "Post" is the same as it would be for installing a form onto a "Page."
- You will then see the list of all of the pages you have created in WordPress. Hover your mouse over the page you would like to add the form to and click the "Edit" link that appears underneath the page title.
- On the next page you will see the WordPress tool for editing your page. Click on the "Text" tab at the top of the editor.
Now, if you go back to that page on your WordPress site you will see the sign up form!
