MemberGate is a platform that allows you to create a functioning membership website with the ability to create a subscription plan. With MemberGate, you can create paid or free subscriptions so that visitors can access your website and all of its content. You are also able to sell physical and digital products through a shopping cart, and create your own affiliate program.
With the AWeber integration, you can have subscribers added to your list after they sign up for a membership plan or you can have them unsubscribed from the list if they cancel their membership. If website visitors purchase a product or sign up for your affiliate program, they can be added to your list as well.
In this article, we will discuss how you can connect to MemberGate through the API and connect your membership subscription forms, shopping cart, and affiliate program to your list.
Note: This integration supports tags.
Step By Step Instructions
- First, login to the MemberGate platform, hover over the "Admin" tab, and click "Control Panel."
- After you access your control panel, click the "API Service Settings" tab from the menu options on the right-hand side of the page.
- Then, click "AWeber API."
- On the "AWeber API Settings" page click the "Authorize AWeber App" button to generate your unique authorization code.
- You will have to allow MemberGate to access your AWeber account information, including your lists, messages, and subscribers. Enter your login credentials and click "Allow Access."
- Copy your unique authorization code.
- Next, return to the "AWeber API Settings" page and paste your authorization code in the "AWeber Connection String" textbox. Once complete, click "Save AWeber Connection Settings."
And that's it! Congratulations, you've successfully connected AWeber and MemberGate. Now, you can connect your lists to your membership subscription forms, eCommerce shopping cart, and affiliate program.
Connecting your Membership Plans
- From the admin control panel, click the "Master Settings" tab from the menu options on the right-hand side of the page. Then, click "Edit Member Plans."
- If you haven't done so already, create your membership plan. In the "List Server Sign Up Code" section, click the AWeber tab and select your list from the drop-down menu.
- Enter any tags that you would like added to your subscribers in the "Tags" field and hit enter when complete.
- If your membership plan is a recurring billing subscription, navigate to the "List Server Recurring Billing Code" section, click the AWeber tab, and select your list from the drop-down menu. Enter any tags you would like applied in the "Tags" field.
- You can also have subscribers unsubscribed from the list when they become inactive members or cancel their memberships. In the "List Server Cancel Code" section, click the "AWeber Unsubscribe" tab, and select your list from the drop-down menu. Enter any tags you would like applied in the "Tags" field.
- If you would like to have your inactive or cancelled members added to your AWeber list, click the "AWeber Subscribe" tab, and then select your list from the drop-down menu.
- Once complete, click the "Apply Change to this Member Plan" button.
Your membership subscription will now be connected to your AWeber list!
Connecting your Shopping Cart
- To connect your MemberGate shopping cart to your list, first access your control panel, click the "Commerce" tab, and click "Shopping Cart."
- Then, click the "Add/Edit Products" link.
- If you haven't done so already, create a product for your store. Then, select the AWeber tab from the "List Server Sign Up Code" section. Select your list from the drop-down menu and enter any tags that you would like applied.
- Once complete, click the "Add this Item" button.
Connecting your Affiliate Program
- First, click the "Commerce" tab, and then click "Affiliate Program."
- Then, click the "Customize Affiliate Settings and Signup Options" link from the Affiliate Program menu options.
- Select the AWeber tab from the "List Server Sign Up Code" section. Then, select your list from the drop-down menu and enter any tags that you would like applied.
- Once you have finished adjusting your settings, click "Apply Changes" at the bottom of the page.
You're all set! When visitors go to your website and sign up to be apart of your affiliate program, they will also be added to your AWeber list.
