What is a Page Hit Automation?

AWeber’s Email Web Analytics track what subscribers open your emails, and the specific links they click on. By adding a short snippet of code to your website, you can also track the pages your subscribers visit beyond the initial click-through, and track sales tied to purchases made.

With page hit automations, you can add and remove tags to your subscribers when they view specific pages on your tracked websites.

This feature allows you to:

  • Track your subscribers’ on-site actions using tags.
  • Create dynamic segments, or groups of subscribers, based on tags.
  • Trigger sophisticated automated email campaigns based on on-site actions, like viewing your receipt page, or a specific product.

Note: this feature is not accessible on the AWeber Free plan. Upgrade your account to unlock this feature and many more by clicking here, or by contacting our Customer Solutions team.

Further instructions on how to upgrade your account if needed can be found here.

Why should I use page hit automations?

Because you want to wow your subscribers by sending the perfect message at the perfect time!

Page hit automations help you understand your customer’s journey, or the path they take as they move from passive prospect to engaged customer.

Tag subscribers based on the pages they’ve viewed to understand what content they’re interested in and send them more relevant emails to move them closer to a purchase.

Or, track who made it to your product pages or shopping cart, but never hit the receipt page. Connect with a cart abandonment, or win-back email, to drive your audience back to the cart.

What do I need to get started?

Just a few simple things are needed to get started:
