How do I set up RSS feed automation so that new subscribers wait for the next published post?
When a susbcriber reaches a Check Feed step for the first time, by default, they will be send your latest content. However, there are times when you'd actually prefer for the subscriber to wait until your publish your next post before receiving information.
This can be handled by placing a Wait step just before the Check Feed if there isn't already one there. This helps you sync up subscribers to the day you typically publish content.
For example, let's say you publish new posts on Monday mornings at 8AM. You could have new subscribers wait until the next Monday at 8:30 AM prior to entering the Check Feed. The subscriber would then get your latest published post and will now be on the perfect schedule to receive your content whenever you next post.
Step by Step Instructions
- After creating an automated newsletter workflow, using one of our templates, add a new wait action before the check feed element.
- Using this Wait action, add a new send window so that it sends when the content is regularly posted.
And that's it! After saving and exiting the workflow, any new subscribers added to the workflow will only receive new posts you publish in the future.
